1841 - Census
James Manning is living with his wife, Elizabeth, aged 47, and his children, Samuel, 10, Charles, 6, Frances, 15, Charlotte, 14 and Ann, 9 years. James is working as an Agricultural labourer.
1851 - Census
George Warren is living with the Manning family which now consists of James, aged 62 years, Elizabeth, 60 years and children, Samuel and Sarah aged 28 years, Charles, 17, Elizabeth 7 years.
1861 Census
Now living at No. 9 Hill Watering Road in Langham, James is 71 and still working as an agricultural labourer. His wife, Elizabeth is 70 years old. His grand-daughter, Charlotte Ward aged 8 years, and his son, Samuel, aged 37 with his wife, Sarah, aged 37 years. And his youngest daughter, Elizabeth, 17 years old who is a dressmaker.
1868 - Death of James Manning
James Manning died January 7, in 1868 in Langham. Suffolk. The death register notes that he was "worn out".
1871 Census
James has died and Elizabeth is now living with her son, Samuel Manning, a widower, aged 46 years who works as a Vermin Destroyer at 52 Stock Hill, Langham.
