The person, Joyce Warren, provided me with difficulty in tracing. I feel sure she was a child of Clifford James Warren and Myrtle May Young, based on her name being included in a Memorium notice for brother, Clifford Young Warren. The notice included the words – “brother of Charles, Joyce, Ted (A.I.F.), Bart and Frank”. This would assume that Joyce was born between 1913 and 1921 and that Bart was born between 1923 and 1928.
The death notice for William Frank Warren included the words – “brother of Charlie, Ted and Joyce (Mrs. Bart)”. Yes, I checked the actual newspaper record and yes, “(Mrs. Bart)” was part of the notice.
In my search for Joyce, I found several mentions of a Joyce Warren in the newspapers – she was clearly a skilled musician and she married Frank Yates in 1940. But no definite proof that this Joyce Warren was the child I was searching. I could not find her birth, marriage, or death in any of the usual genealogical databases. Searches for Joyce Bart, Joyce Yates, Joyce Warren found nothing to help with this question.
Then I found a couple of newspaper articles about a young man named Bart Warren, dated 1946 and 1949. These can be examined a little further in this document. Again, my searches found nothing to help with his identity, other than the reference in the death notice for brother Clifford Young Warren and the fact he lived in the same area as many of the others of this family – Black Rock, Western Australia.
So, for the time being, this little mystery will have to remain unsolved. I have included Joyce Warren and Bart Warren in the family until their identities can be resolved.
