1950 – Obituary – Leonard William Chase
OBITUARY
The death of Leonard William Chase, of Yorketown occurred at the S.Y.P. Hospital on Friday, January 13th.

The deceased who was 84 years of age was born at Clarendon.  Two sons Hurtle and Leslie, and one daughter, Mrs. W.J. Williams of Stenhouse Bay survive.  One son, Clive paid the supreme sacrifice during World War 1.

The burial service at Pink Lake Cemetery on Saturday was conducted by the Rev. R. Steele.

1914 – Marriage of Hurtle Chase

WEDDING BELLS  - CHASE – MURRAY

At the Yorketown Methodist Church on Saturday evening, the Chase / Murray wedding was celebrated.  The Rev. E. Arnold officiated.  The contracting parties were Hurtle Charles, second son of Mr. Leonard Chase, and Annie Welsh, second daughter of Mr. Simon Murray, all of Yorketown.

The bridesmaids were Misses Bessie and May Murray.  Mr. Fred Whitcher carried out the duties of the best man and Mr. Les Chase those of the groomsman.

The bride carried a white bouquet and was tastefully dressed in cream silk lace over white silk with the usual orange blossom and veil.  Miss Bessie Murray wore a dress of cream embroidery voile with apricot sash and bouquet.  Miss May Murray, white embroidered voile and tartan sash, with bouquet and tartan streamers.  The presents to the bridesmaids were a gold bangle and a gold watch.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.  At the wedding breakfast, the Rev. E. Arnold proposed the toast of “The Bride and Bridegroom” to which Mr. Chase responded.
The bride’s travelling dress was a brown coat and skirt with brown velvet hat.  Mr. and Mrs. Chase intend residing at Point Turton.
