1945, May
We regret to announce that Mr. and Mrs Warren have received official intimation that their son, F/Sgt. Cliff. Warren, is now presumed dead.

On April 10th, 1944, the Halifax bombers of the RAAF, took off to carry out an attack on German territory. The rear gunner on one of them was F/Sgt. C. Y. Warren.
That aircraft did not return, and Cliff was posted missing.

Later in August, word was received from the German authorities through the International Red Cross, that the aircraft had been shot down and all members of the crew killed. But only two members had been identified so the fact of death of the rest could not be established.

And now comes the word that no further news has been received and all hope of Cliff being alive has been abandoned.

We feel sure that the sympathy of the district will be with Mr and Mrs Warren and family.
