Grace remained unmarried.  She was deaf from fever and lived with her sister, Agnes Tait, nee Rogerson at Halleaths Lodge, Dumfries.

1891 Census -  Grace, aged about 50 years, was living with Agnes and Robert Tait, sister and brother-in-law, at Drygrange North or Third Lodge in Melrose, Roxburghshire when she was working as an Agricultural Labourer or Outdoor Worker
