On April 9, 1897, the family trooped into the parish church of Saint Mark in Noel Park to have Herbert Cyril Ford baptised. They returned a few days later on April 18 to baptise two of their older children, Stanley James Ford and Ella Ford. The family’s address at that time was 197 Gladstone Avenue in Noel Park.

1911 – Census
Another census and another house move. The 1911 census saw them living at 33 Pelham Road in Wood Green. This may have meant a move to the house next door, or it may have been just a change in the numbering system in the street. Herbert was 14 and still at school.

SARAH JANE WING – EARLY YEARS
I have found almost nothing to report for Sarah Jane Wing prior to her marriage in 1916. Judging from the wedding photograph, Sarah possibly had at least five sisters and from the marriage certificate we know her father’s name was Frederick John Wing.
HERBERT CYRIL FORD & SARAH JANE WING – THEIR LIFE
At the Registry Office in Edmonton, Middlesex on November 13, 1916, Herbert Cyril Ford, 20 years old and a bachelor, married Sarah Jane Wing, 21 years old, spinster. Herbert gave his profession as Railway Engine Cleaner and Sarah as General Domestic Servant. Both gave their address at the time of their marriage as 32 Woodlands Villas, Muswell Hill Road, Hornsey.
Herbert’s father was Joseph Samuel Ford (deceased), former Brass Polisher (Journeyman) and Sarah’s father was Frederick John Wing, Retired Railway Engine Driver.
The marriage was “by Certificate” which means that because Herbert was under 21 years, he needed his parent’s permission.
The two people who were witnesses to their marriage, D.E. West and E.C. West were most likely related through Herbert’s older brother, George Dixie Ford’s marriage to Sarah May West.
Both Herbert and Sarah signed the marriage register.

The Wedding Party
There were many family members at their wedding. The sketch below indicates the supposed identity of some of the wedding party. However, I think some of the identity are incorrect.
Herbert’s mother, Marianette Ford, nee Kingham is present as are Algernon Percy Ford and his wife Ethel May nee Wyatt. Ella Ford is pictured as well, however, the man described as Joseph Stanley Ford is incorrect. I know this because a photo I have that predates this wedding shows Joseph Samuel Ford having little hair and also the marriage certificate (November 13, 1916) of Herbert Cyril Ford records his father as already being dead at the time of this wedding.

1917 – Birth of Daughter, Nellie Irene Ford
Shortly their marriage comes the first of their children – Nellie Irene Ford. Irene possibly named after the younger daughter of Herbert Cyril Ford’s brother, George Dixie Ford (Muriel Irene Ford)

1956 – Death of Herbert Cyril Ford
Herbert Cyril Ford of 39 Eleanor Road, Bowes Park died on December 30, 1956 at North Middlesex Hospital London.
His cause of death was Coronary Thrombosis, the definition of which is –
Coronary thrombosis is defined as the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel of the heart. This blood clot may then restrict blood flow within the heart, leading to heart tissue damage, or a myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack.Coronary thrombosis is most commonly caused as a downstream effect of atherosclerosis, a build-up of cholesterol and fats in the artery walls. The smaller vessel diameter allows less blood to flow and facilitates progression to a myocardial infarction. Leading risk factors for coronary thrombosis are high LDL cholesterol, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, and hypertension.
