DIVORCE COURT -LAUNDER V LAUNDER
Ivy Myrtle Launder, 31 years of age, of Harlington street, Northcote, petitioned for a dissolution of her marriage with George Octavius Launder, 36 years of age, railway employee and storeman, on the ground of desertion. Mr L. S. Woolf (instructed by Mr. Ridgeway) appeared for the petitioner.

The marriage was on February 8, 1904, at Abbotsford, and there were two children. After residing at Williamstown for some time the parties went to Western Australia, where the respondent, it was stated, used to drink heavily. Petitioner, under the doctor's orders, came to Victoria in June 1901, and respondent had only sent £2 since then.

Her decree nisi with costs was granted.

In order to serve the legal documents, the authorities searched for Octavius George Launder for months without success. Finally, the court granted a divorce uncontested.
