George was an organ tuner who seems to have remained in Hawthorn for his entire life.  At his death, a notice appeared in “The Age” newspaper dated July 12, 1937 –

MR. G. L. COLL1NGS.
The death occurred yesterday of Mr. George Launder Collings, of Auburn Grove, Hawthorn.
Mr. Collings had been associated with Messrs. George Fincham and Sons Pty. Ltd., organ builders, of Richmond, for about. 60 years and had been a resident of Hawthorn all his life.
The interment will take place at the Kew cemetery tomorrow. The arrangements are being made by Le Pine and Son.

George remained unmarried and, in his will, left real estate to a value of £550 and personal property of value £2,280 to his nephews and nieces.
