1839 - Birth
This baby, bearing the same name as his father, was born on August 4 in Gloucestershire.

He accompanied his parents and other children on the voyage to Melbourne, Australia and settled in Stanley, Tasmania with them.

His father was a Magistrate and also owned acreage in Forest where he and his family lived.

You may remember reading on the web page for his father of the same name, about the incident at the family cottage at Forest in 1853 - 1853 - Horrible Murder at Circular Head.

This young boy was a witness to all the horror that took place in his family's home on that dreadful night of September in 1853.  It is told that the boy was so traumatised by the events that he saw, that his health was severely impacted.

1853 - Death
He died at the age of 14 years, just 2 months after the murder and was buried in the Stanley Burial Ground.
