In 1881 the family lived at 219 Well Street in Clifton. Their family had grown by the addition of George, Emily, Samuel and John Tingey.

His sons, William and George were working as Shop Assistants, Clara was a Dressmaker and Emily a Milliner Assistant. John was a scholar.
What has happened to Samuel, aged 3 in the 1881 Census? Samuel had died in October 1881, aged 3 months.

Now at 5 Holly Villas in Hackney, George, aged 66 is still delivering the mail as a Postman.
His daughter, Emily, unmarried and 26 years old, is a Tie Maker, while 21-year-old John is following in his father’s footsteps as a Postman.

Things have changed for Sophia, now 70 years old. She is living with her married daughter, Emily Spenceley, 36 years who has been married for 4 years to Richard Spenceley, 34 years.

Emily works as a Tie Hand, whilst her husband works as a Motor Bus Conductor. They have a one-year-old son, Richard. They live in a 3-room house at 26 Haliday Street, Homerton, St John-at-Hackney, London.
