William John LAUNDER, son of William John LAUNDER and Sarah, formerly MOODY, was born at Leaning Apple Tree Station in Queensland on June 8, 1875.   At the time of his birth, his father was working as a stockman, was 36 years old and gave his residence as Flagstone.  His mother gave her age as 26 years.  

He already had 2 living siblings at the time, Adam George, aged 3 years and Sarah Maria aged 2 years.   His father, William John Launder gave is birth place as ‘Seven Gates, Kent, England’ mixing it up with ‘Sevenoaks, Kent’ – maybe be didn’t speak clearly enough and it was written down incorrectly.  His mother, Sarah Moody, was born ‘at sea’.  The nurse who attended the birth was Mrs. Millbanks.

Edith was born on October 15 in 1879 at Glen Eagle, Upper Logan, Queensland.  Her father was Henry Booker, a labourer, aged 28 years, born in Shoreham, Kent, England.  Her mother was Sarah Hills (or Mills), 29 years, born at Chiddington, Kent.  The birth had been notified to the BDM Office in writing by Edith's father who lived at Allens Creek in Upper Logan.  Edith's parents has married on November 30 in 1873 in London, England.  They already had 3 other children - Nellie Elizabeth, 5 years, Matilda Rose, 3 years and Sarah Maud 1 year.

1937 - Marriage

On September 11 in 1937, Wilhelmina married Francis Ernest Brown.  Francis was a taxi driver and lived at 61 China Street in Mundingburra.  He was a bachelor of 22 years.  Wilhelmina was 17 years old and lived just down the street from Francis at 54 China Street.  She worked as a shop assistant.  Her father, William John Launder was a cattle buyer, but it seems he may not have attended the marriage as he did not sign as a witness to the marriage.,
